Retail Outdoor Props Store Interior Design

When outdoor prop stores are no longer merely rigid Spaces with "shelves piled up with goods", but rather carriers that allow people to immerse themselves in the outdoor atmosphere, their interior design becomes the core link connecting products and users. The recent visit to this retail outdoor prop store precisely follows the logic of "functional adaptation + aesthetic implementation", seamlessly integrating the practical attributes of outdoor props with the experience of modern retail. From the reception desk at the entrance to the clearly zoned shelves, every detail not only serves for display and sales but also subtly echoes the relaxed atmosphere of the outdoor setting.

Industrial neatness and warm wood

This store did not follow the old path of traditional outdoor stores with a "rough camping style". Instead, it chose a more modern base of "light industry + warm wood tones", which not only retains the hardcore attributes of outdoor props but also avoids the coldness of the space

  • 1. Material base

The floor is self-leveling with light grey cement, and the matte texture weakens the stiffness of the industrial style. The walls are mainly painted with white latex paint, with some areas embedded with Morandi green decorative panels - this low-saturation green not only echoes the natural tones of the outdoors but also does not steal the spotlight from the products. The counters and shelves in the core display area are extensively decorated with laminated wood grain finishes. The smooth wood texture adds a touch of warmth to the metal and plastic props.

  • 2. Lighting gradation

The black track spotlights on the ceiling are arranged longitudinally, precisely hitting the props. The metal Outlines of the firearms and the details of the cutting edges of the knives are all clearly visible. The warm light strips along the edges of the counter and inside the niches are responsible for "filling the atmosphere". For instance, the curved light strips at the bottom of the counter in the firearms area will make the wooden cabinets look particularly soft when lit at night. The frosted lampshade chandelier in the reception area has softened and connected the industrial-style metal frame with warm light.

  • 3. Structural ingenuity

The exposed white pipes on the ceiling are not concealed but retained as industrial elements, complemented by black track frames to make the lines more distinct. The arc-shaped design of the walls and shelves (such as the enclosed counter in the firearms area) softens the hardness of the straight lines, making the entire space "firm yet gentle".

Reception Desk: Function + display

The reception desk itself is made of white matte artificial stone and wood grain veneer, presenting an overall arc shape - this arc just avoids the intersection of crowds at the entrance, so there will be no congestion when checking out. The countertop is wide enough to accommodate cash register equipment. The closed cabinet below can hold receipts and packaging bags. The Arabic brand logo on the countertop is presented in embedded illuminated letters, which are eye-catching yet not dazzling.

Surrounding layout

The low round stool and the small wooden round table on the right side of the reception desk serve as both a waiting area and a place for portable outdoor suitcases. On the adjacent metal grid backboard rack, boxed equipment is placed in layers. I picked up a box at random and found that the 15° tilt design of the layer board just made the front of the packaging face up, so it wouldn't slip when I took it out. The cactus decoration beside the rest area is even more wonderful. It not only echoes the outdoor theme but also doesn't take up much space.

Shelves and wall cabinets

What surprised me most about this store was that each type of prop had its own dedicated display medium - from firearms to knives, from protective gear to boxed equipment. The design of the shelves and wall cabinets was completely in line with the attributes of the goods.

1. Firearms display area

Central arc-shaped counter: The length almost covers the entire area. The 8mm thick transparent tempered glass countertop can not only clearly display the long firearms below but also support the weight of the props. I noticed that there were storage compartments left at the bottom of the cabinet. The clerk said that unopened prop boxes could be placed there, and there was no need to bend over to rummage through them when taking them out. The warm light strips along the edge of the counter make the texture of the wooden cabinet particularly delicate at night.

Wall cabinets: They come in two forms: one is a metal grid back plate + adjustable hooks - the hook spacing can be adjusted according to the size of the firearms, which not only fits different models but also avoids wear and tear caused by long-term fixation. The second feature is an embedded oval niche on the wall, with dark velvet fabric and warm spotlights inside. It is specifically designed to hold small accessories such as goggles and magazines. The oval shape also softens the tough look of the firearms.

2. Tool display area

Cylindrical display stands: Several cylindrical stands in the center of the area, with white matte material for the frame body. The top is embedded with circular spotlights, and the cutting tools are hung diagonally on the illuminated backplate - 360° display allows customers to view the cutting edge and handle from any Angle. The "COLD STEEL" brand logo on the top of the frame is very eye-catching and can be recognized without bending over.

Enclosed counter: The arc-shaped enclosed counter at the edge is slightly lower than the gun area. The transparent glass countertop is suitable for displaying small knives. I tried to take one, and its height just reached the palm of my hand. The experience was very comfortable. The wooden cabinet below can store unopened knife boxes. The cabinet door is push-type and there is no need to find a handle.

3. Outdoor equipment area

The central island shelf: The design of "wooden frame + grid backboard + inclined layer board" is very practical. The layer board is inclined at 15° to make the packaging front of boxed equipment (such as ammunition boxes) face up. The Arabic language area signs on the top of the shelves are made of illuminated letters and can be clearly seen from a distance. The white support feet at the bottom not only prevent the wooden parts from touching the ground but also make the shelves appear lighter.

Embedded wall cabinet: The spacing of the white shelves is adjusted according to the height of the equipment box (about 30cm), and each layer is embedded with small spotlights, making the packaging information clearly visible. Some of the wall cabinets are equipped with frosted glass doors, which can hold fragile and high-value equipment. This not only protects the goods but also allows a faint view of the interior.

Circulation line design

Starting from the reception area, enter along the arc-shaped counter in the firearms area, pass through the knife area and equipment area in sequence, and finally return to the rest area - there are no blind spots throughout the journey and it won't be crowded. The spiral staircase exposed in the middle not only connects the upper space but also becomes a visual focus, adding layers to the flat ground. The chairs in the rest area are made of metal frames and canvas cushions, which not only meet the "practical" attribute of outdoor use but are also comfortable to sit on. The models in the model area wore windbreakers, with cacti and sand and stones beside them, directly recreating the camping scene. All the furniture does not break away from the range of "black, white, wood color and Morandi green", and is completely in harmony with the overall tone of the space.
