Do You Know How to Start the Dessert Shop?

The design of this dessert shop does not merely pile up sweet and greasy pink and yellow elements. Instead, it solidly incorporates the "relaxed feeling when enjoying sweetness" into every corner of the space. Its design does not follow the dazzling route of "internet-famous stores", but instead uses restrained details to make "sweetness" the base color of the space rather than a gimmick. This kind of design that "doesn't steal the spotlight but is comfortable everywhere" is actually what a dessert shop should be like.

Overall design

When you string up the bar counter and the tables and chairs, you'll find that the design of this store is not "broken into pieces" - from color to material and soft furnishings, everything revolves around the core of "light purple softness", without any superfluous decorations. Every detail adds to the "relaxed feeling of eating sweet food". Even the grid lights on the ceiling fit well with the overall atmosphere and are not randomly installed lighting tools. This overall sense of "not stealing the show" actually makes the dessert the star of the space.

  • Color "runs through logic"

From the pinkish purple of the storefront, to the light purple walls inside, to the pinkish yellow and blue blocks hanging the menu, and even the base color of the takeout bags, all are the same set of "low-saturation sweet tones". There are no sudden bright color blocks. The visual transition is very natural. You can catch this soft and gentle feeling as soon as you enter the door. Even when eating sweet food, your eyes won't feel tired.

  • The flow is smooth.

From pushing the door open to place an order and then choosing a seat, the route is smooth - no need to avoid obstacles, no need to push through the crowd, and you can even "drop by" to see the new products in the dessert counter. This smoothness is not a deliberately planned "internet-famous route", but rather a natural route made from the perspective of the guests, with the principle of "do as you please".

Dessert Bar

The bar counter is the "heart" of this store - ordering, serving, and displaying desserts all revolve around it. It has also quietly separated the ordering area from the dining area. It doesn't have those cold high cabinets. Instead, it uses stone-patterned low walls to create a relaxed boundary. Neither those standing to order nor those sitting to enjoy the sweet treats will feel cramped. Even the material of the bar counter countertop can be perceived as being chosen for the attribute of a "dessert shop". It doesn't steal the spotlight but is of high quality.

  • Functional layout

On one side of the bar counter are the ice cream shop machine, coffee machine and other equipment (operation area), with a transparent dessert cabinet embedded in the middle (allowing you to directly see the freshly baked cakes), and on the other side, it is against a stone-patterned low wall (just serving as a temporary storage platform). When placing an order, you can clearly see all the categories. When serving the food, you don't have to take a detour. Even the takeout bags are placed in convenient locations. Both efficiency and experience are taken into account.

  • Material

The main body of the bar counter is a rough-textured stone-patterned wall (with a somewhat retro and heavy feel), while the countertop is a smooth light white (convenient for wiping dessert stains), and there are fine golden lines added to the edges (adding a touch of refinement). The hard material enhances the texture, while the soft countertop caters to practicality. Even the color of the stone patterns gently echoes the floor tiles, looking unobtrusion.

Tables, chairs and booths

Only when sitting down did I realize the ingenuity of the tables and chairs - they are not all the same "internet-famous style", but come in different types, precisely catering to various needs such as "enjoying a sweet meal alone", "having a get-together with friends", and "wanting to stay quietly". The size of the round table and chairs is just right for two cakes and two drinks. The backrests of the booths are also of just the right firmness, so you won't feel tired after sitting for a while. Even the curves of the chairs are in harmony with the softness of the space, not a forced style.

  • Round tables and chairs

The round table in the middle area is light grey (dirt-resistant), paired with metal chairs with curved backrests (thin but stable frame), and the cushions are light grey soft-padded (not uncomfortable to sit on for a long time). The diameter of the table is just enough for two or three people to chat together, and the distance between the chairs is wide enough. When getting up to take a tissue, you won't touch the arm of the person sitting next to you, so there's no need to deliberately "pull back".

  • Booth

The booth against the wall is made of light grey soft padding (consistent with the chair cushion), and the backrest just reaches shoulder height (which can block some sounds from the side without completely blocking them). The small table in front of the booth is narrow and long (just right for desserts and mobile phones). The booth by the window can still get some sunlight. When you want to be alone, just sit in the booth and there will be a small corner where you won't be disturbed.

Wall decor design

The wall is the "base color" of this store. It is not only painted in a monotonous light purple but also uses a layering and material splicing method, which not only enhances the atmosphere but also prevents the space from appearing "light and airy". Even the wall decorations are not randomly pasted posters, but designs linked to the attributes of desserts. Every detail is to "set off" the desserts, not to steal the spotlight.

  • Main wall

The wall is not of a single color. The upper part is light purple (the core of the soft and elegant feeling), and the lower part is spliced with light white marble patterns (the cool tone neutralizes the sweet and greasy feeling). The dividing line in the middle just echoes the height of the stone pattern low wall of the bar counter. It not only adds layers to the wall but also provides texture support for the soft light purple, preventing it from appearing "weightless".

  • Decorative wall

The walls of the dining area are a blend of artificial green plant walls and wooden vertical patterned walls. The green plant walls add a natural sense of relaxation (not feeling stuffy even after staying for a long time), while the wooden walls add a touch of warm regularity. The two perfectly balance the "softness" of the light purple, giving the space a "reliable" texture.

  • Neon wall decorations

The neon words "Ice Scream" and "It's Cake Time" on the wall are soft light of pale pink or pale purple, not dazzling bright lights. When it is lit up in the evening, the light just wraps around the pale purple of the wall, adding a touch of sweetness without being dazzling. When taking pictures of desserts, it can also serve as a soft background light, without the need to deliberately find an Angle.
